I worked for several years as an auditor at Deloitte before earning my PhD in Accounting from The University of Missouri at Columbia. I am now an Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, where I have historically taught financial statement auditing and recently designed a new Python-based data analytics course for accounting majors. My research is focused primarily on auditors and other information intermediaries in financial markets, and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed academic journals, such as Contemporary Accounting Research, the Journal of Accounting and Economics, the Review of Accounting Studies, and the Journal of Accounting Research. I sit on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, and AUDITING: A Journal of Practice and Theory and have served as an ad-hoc reviewer for many journals including, among others, the Journal of Accounting Research, the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, and Accounting Organizations and Society. I am also the Senior Scholar for AI Initiatives at the Salem Center for Policy.
This website hosts some personal information about me (e.g., my CV), a list of my peer reviewed publications, as well as data from some of my research that I am making public for use by other researchers.
